**Position Overview**

The Workforce Manager serves as an operational lead for the hourly workforce, building relationships and addressing onsite concerns or issues. Their primary responsibility is to coordinate and support the hourly workers ensuring operational efficiency across project sites and works closely with senior leaders and project teams to manage staffing levels while collaborating with the safety department to facilitate employee training and certifications.

**Responsibilities and Primary Tasks**
- Dispatch hourly employees to project sites, ensure they have all required contact information, site details, and established contact for with Project Superintendents and/or Foreman
- Support the recruitment and hiring process for hourly workforce, including resume review, interviewing, and onboarding
- Support the VP of Assets and Workforce and the leadership team to forecast workforce needs and plan resources based on project schedules
- Maintain an active roster of permeant full-time, on-call and part-time employees to respond to all matter of workforce demands
- Collaborate with project sites to balance workforce levels, aligning employee skillsets with site requirements and corporate priorities.
- Work with the Safety Department to keep accurate training and certification records; ensure only compliant employees are dispatched to worksites.
- Coordinate internal and external training for employees to obtain and maintain required tickets and certifications.
- Manage the dispatching of shared company resources, such as sweeper trucks and dump trucks.
- Serve as a key contact for the hourly workforce, building relationships and addressing onsite concerns or issues.
- Liaise with third-party labour suppliers (traffic control, temporary labour, etc.), to supplement workforce needs when necessary.
- Build and maintain relationships with various industry related small scale subcontractors who can be utilized to supplement workforce needs when deemed necessary.
- Monitor employee development and growth, ensuring job classifications remain aligned with skills and experience
- Other duties as assigned

**Reporting Relationships**

The Workforce Manager reports to the Vice President of Assets and Workforce.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Previous experience in workforce management and dispatching within the construction or related industry.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of training requirements, safety certifications, and industry-specific tickets considered an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with employees at all levels.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and workforce scheduling
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong recordkeeping and documentation skills.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work closely with leadership and project teams
- Adaptable, resourceful, and able to remain calm under pressure

**Work Environment**

The Workforce Manager is based in the corporate head office in Surrey, BC, and travels to sites on an as-needed basis.
