The Landing Success Indigenous Graduation Coach will support the success of grade 8 Indigenous students who are transitioning to secondary school and grade 9 and 10 Indigenous students who are gaining credits to support their secondary school graduation requirements.

**Dates**:**Commencing July 2, 2025, and ending August 1, 2025

**Location**:Kikendaasogamig Elementary School, Neyaashiinigmiing
**Supervisor**:Summer Programming Administrator
**Hours of Work**:Full time hours Monday - Friday (Students in attendance from Monday to Thursday; Friday for program planning)
**Salary**:$35.39 - $36.80/hour (inclusive of 4% vacation and holiday pay)
**D**uties and Responsibilities**:
- Support the student success of intermediate Indigenous students across Bluewater District School Board
- Support all summer school programs in which Indigenous students are enrolled
- Work in partnership with Bluewater District School Board's Indigenous Advisor, the board Student Success team, summer school staff, and families to establish timely interventions to remove barriers to the ensure the well-being, engagement and learning of Indigenous students
- Use existing school structures to advocate for the needs of each learner
- Engage with parents, guardians, families and communities to build trust, relationships, and facilitate communication and dialogue
- Develop collective knowledge of educators, provide cultural competency supports as needed and advocate with Indigenous cultural knowledge to help transform school culture
- Act as an advocate and a role model for students in pathways planning related to graduation and post-secondary destinations
- connect students with their cultural identity, organizes and facilitates student leadership development
- facilitate student engagement in order to create trusting relationships between Indigenous students and their secondary school community
- Perform other duties as assigned
**Q**ualifications and Experience**:
- Grade 12 Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent
- Indigenous Education Counselling and Training Program Diploma, or Diploma in Native Education Indigenous Studies
**A**ssets**:
- Proven ability to demonstrate an understanding of the Anishinaabe traditions and community
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Organized and able to manage competing demands
- Experience mentoring or coaching students
**J**ob Requirements**:
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Clean vulnerable sector police check
- Eligible to work in Canada
- A valid driver's license
