**HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER - CONSTRUCTION SITE** Clobracon Construction is looking for a HEALTH AND SAFETY AGENT - CONSTRUCTION SITE. Since 2004, Clobracon specializes in muti storey residential, commercial construction and complex renovation projects. We offer a hands-on, dynamic work environment. This is a permanent position. We are looking for an individual who will be part of the team and who can manage health and safety for a large high rise project located in Ottawa. The responsibilities of the Security Officer position are as follows: 1. Responsible for the planning, organization and control of all activities whose purpose is the elimination at source of hazards to the health and safety of workers working on the site. 2. Ensure that all necessary security measures are in place and reinforced at all times. 3. Ensure compliance with laws related to worker health/safety. 4. Review and update the Clobracon health and safety manual. 5. Ensure compliance of subcontractor's health and safety programs. 6. Organizer of weekly safety meetings with site workers, with attendance register and meeting minutes 7. Ensure that each new employee on the site is welcomed, familiarize themselves with the health/safety rules and sign the form "Personal commitment of the worker with regard to the health/safety rules of the site". 8. Plan ahead for various safety measures needed at different stages of the job. Review the master schedule and the three-week schedule to advise the superintendent and the project manager on the health/safety steps to be taken for future activities. 9. Assist in reviewing Clobracon's health and safety inspection checklist. 10. Ensure that all MOL forms are filled out and subvmitted in a timely manner. 11. Consult with MOL inspectors for assistance to clarify in detail when one is unsure or uncertain of certain safety rules in various situations BEFORE there is a situation. Applicants must comply with the following requirements: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position working on a large high rise project. - Have strong organizational and planning skills - Computer skills: MS-Office - Able to communicate effectively and clearly - written and verbal, it is an asset to speak both English and French **Salary**: $33.00-$48.00 per hour **Benefits**: - Dental care - Extended health care Schedule: - 8 hour shift **Experience**: - Health and safety: 3 years (preferred)
