Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role in Ottawa, ON, for a Health and Safety Officer. The Health and Safety Officer will develop, implement, and manage health and safety programs, ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations, and promote a culture of safety. The role involves conducting safety audits, delivering safety training sessions, advising on Occupational Health matters, and reinforcing Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards to ensure a safe workplace for all employees. The coordinator will work collaboratively with team members to assess potential risks and develop preventive measures for a secure and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

  • Health & Safety and Workplace Safety expertise, with a demonstrated ability to identify risks and implement effective safety measures
  • Knowledge of Environment Health and Safety (EHS) standards and Occupational Health requirements
  • Experience in delivering Safety Training and promoting a culture of safety within the workplace
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, coupled with effective communication and collaboration abilities
  • Certifications in Occupational H&S are an asset
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and best practices for compliance
  • Previous experience in a health and safety role in the construction industry is a requirement
  • NCSO and JHSC certifications are required
