QUALITY EMPLOYMENT is currently seeking Social Service Workers AND Child & Youth Workers (CYW) to work with clients in the GTA
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Social Service Worker and Child & Youth Worker (CYW) will work in a community setting which includes Group Homes, Homeless Shelters, or Long Term Care Homes and will work to improve the physical, emotional, intellectual and social development of children, adolescents and adults.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and homeless shelters
- Provide basic needs for adults living with mental illnesses, addictions and chronic homelessness
- Encourage independence, community engagement and housing stability
- De-escalate/Resolve conflict situations
- Support the working relationship between residents and Case Workers; refer the resident back to their Case Worker whenever possible/necessary
- Document resident interactions, referrals, progress and any change in behaviour
- Ensure clear lines of communication with outside organizations who serve the residents
- Complete incident reports and daily logs in a timely manner
- Other duties as required
Additional Skills: Housekeeping activities, Food preparation
EDUCATION: Must have:
Child & Youth Worker (CCW/CYW) Diploma or Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (Level C/HCP)
Must have UMAB or CPI
Updated Police /Vulnerable Sector Clearance completed.
Updated Medical TB completed
COVID-19 Vaccination
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Casual
**Salary**: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekend availability
Supplemental pay types:
- Overtime pay
**Experience**:
