We use the Compass to guide our journey - a tool that was co-created with the community of practice over the past five years. Finally, you are a strong team player who is excited about working with a wide range of people, including researchers and business leaders. As a Digital Marketing Assistant, you will work closely with Innovation North’s Operations Manager to amplify the work of Innovation North, sharing relevant content that increases brand awareness and public engagement. You will primarily focus on content creation and social media management for up to 10-15 hours/week. **Responsibilities**: In this role, you can expect to: - Co-develop a social media strategy to increase brand awareness, build an engaged following, and position Innovation North as a global social movement. - Execute on the strategy by conceptualizing, designing/creating, and scheduling content for LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram in Canva. - Engage with followers by responding to shares and comments as well as cross-posting content and tagging likeminded organizations. - Measure social media performance by reporting monthly analytics and offering recommendations to adjust our social media strategy accordingly. - Provide additional support designing and updating collateral for Innovation North such as PowerPoints, reports, etc. where needed **Qualifications**: Education - Current Undergraduate or Master’s degree (in progress) Student in a relevant area of focus (Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Media Studies, Business Administration) Experience - Experience working with a wide variety of digital marketing tools such as graphic design and video editing software is a must - Social media management in a field related to sustainability, business, and/or innovation is preferred Skills & Abilities - Highly active on social media and up-to-speed on emerging trends - Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both academic and business audiences - Feedback-seeking and able to make recommendations for improvement - Ability to make connections and appropriately represent our brand - Tech savvy and comfortable with learning new digital technologies - An eye for design, user experience, and accessibility - Strong critical thinking and time management skills - Ability to work independently and seek clarification when needed **Why Western?**: Consideration of applicants will include an assessment of previous performance, experience, and qualifications.
