Receiver & Purchasing Associate

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Receiver & Purchasing Associate will be primarily accountable for receiving goods and products for the hotel, routing received goods and products to appropriate departments, ensuring accurate stock levels and pricing targets are maintained, and assist with the pricing and security of inventory. Professional communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to make decisions in a fast paced working environment are essential, while ensuring to follow Glenmore Inn policies and procedures while on shift.

**Specific Responsibilities & Duties**:

- Display a “guest comes first” attitude, while maintaining a high level of professionalism throughout the hotel
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail while maintaining accountability for providing timely receipt of needed hotel goods and products
- Take initiative and make quality decisions using sound judgment and based on our policies and procedures
- Ensure to follow all Food Safe handling practices & WHMIS protocols
- All functions of a Receiver/Purchaser, including but not limited to:
1. Order goods as required by kitchen and F&B outlets using appropriate method of communication

2. Receive product as it arrives from various suppliers and place in appropriate areas; ensuring to verify actual product against packing slips, confirming product integrity, and checking product temperatures as needed

3. Fill orders for F&B outlets and deliver where required

4. Assist departments as needed with stocking par levels

5. Keep perishable items rotated to ensure mínimal waste (FIFO principle)

6. Keep freezer, fridges, dry storage & grocery areas stocked neatly and safely

7. All product should be placed on shelves in a timely manner; ensuring to adhere to Food Safe requirements

8. Move goods and products from storage areas to outlets/departments as required
- Keep inventory records of all liquor purchases to ensure security and accurate costing
- Reconciliation of monthly liquor inventories to ensure security and accurate costing in conjunction with the F&B department
- Assist in the reconciliation of monthly food inventories to ensure security and accurate costing
- Assist in maintaining accurate receiving logs, shipping records and invoices
- Keep all work areas neat, sanitary, organized and clean
- Communicate with guests, staff, vendors, suppliers and other departments in a professional and courteous manner
- Work with appropriate Department Heads to ensure stock requirements are consistently met
- Remain productive throughout the entire shift, including completing all assigned side duties and checklists
- Adhere to all Health & Safety policies within the hotel and participate in our Health & Safety Program
- Follow The Glenmore Inn policies and standard operating procedures while on shift.
- To communicate pertinent information to the Executive Chef in a timely manner

**Qualifications**:

- Previous receiving, purchasing experience an asset
- Computer literacy; proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- CPR, First Aid Certification an asset
- WHMIS training an asset
- Must be able to frequently lift, carry and move goods, equipment and other items up to 75lbs independently, and greater than 75lbs with assistance
- Ability to climb ladders and work effectively at heights of up to 8 feet
- Ability to work frequently in tight quarters or with various physical constraints; requiring prolonged kneeling, bending and standing
- Previous hospitality experience an asset.
- Motivated and team orientated.
- Proven attention to detail.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
