Summer Event Coordinator - Full Time, Temporary
M’akola Housing Society - Victoria
Are you an Indigenous student looking for a fun work opportunity for the summer? M’akola Housing Society (M’akola) is looking for one (1) Summer Event Coordinator to join the team for the summer to plan and execute fun events all over the province You will be barbecuing for tenants, playing games with the children, and driving to various locations.
**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Senior Director of Housing Operations (SDHO), the Summer Event Coordinator will be responsible for the M’akola Summer Tenant Appreciation Event program by creating, preparing, and executing exciting events in each region across the province. The Summer Tenant Appreciation Event program is intended to celebrate the community in which we serve, show appreciation to our tenants, and get to know our tenants on a personal level. The Summer Event Coordinator will be responsible for connecting with tenants directly to determine what kind of event they would appreciate, creating a plan, and making it happen
This position is a temporary, 3-month term starting June 2, 2025, until August 29, 2025, for a student currently enrolled in a college or university course. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm based out of the Head Office in Langford when not travelling. This position’s wage is $21.00 per hour.
**Requirements**:
- Currently attending a post-secondary institution
- Experience in an office environment is an asset
- Experience providing direct customer service to the public is an asset
- Willing to acquire Level 1 first aid and Food Safe certificate (reimbursed by M’akola)
- Experience in and with the Indigenous community would be an asset
**Other**
- Must have access to a vehicle and a Class 5 driver’s license
- Provide a clear Criminal Record Check upon selection
