Game Data Analyst

We are currently questing for a talented hero to join our team as a Game Data Analyst. Our Game Data Analyst plays a crucial role in helping us understand how our players interact with our games. In this role, you’ll act as an individual contributor and gather, analyze, and interpret data to be able to make strategic recommendations to our leadership team on how we can grow Codename and improve the gaming experience for our community.

This role is a permanent, full-time role working Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week available immediately.

**Responsibilities**
As a Game Data Analyst, your mission will be to help Codename make data-informed business decisions by:

- Analyzing and interpreting data to understand player behaviour and how to effectively engage and retain players.
- Monitoring and investigating game KPIs on an ongoing basis in order to be able to identify and propose timely strategies to improve KPIs.
- Identifying strategic approaches on how to improve game economics by reviewing data, formulating hypotheses, performing A/B testing, and building and using predictive models.
- Producing and maintaining revenue forecast models.
- Building and maintaining reports that provide meaningful and relevant data to inform on Codename’s strategic initiatives.
- Investigating complex business inquiries by analyzing data gathered first-hand through SQL queries, data mining, and data cleaning.
- Providing data-driven insight and strategic recommendations to Codename’s leadership team.
- Developing, improving, and maintaining best practices for Codename’s data analytics.
- Gathering data to analyze through complex SQL queries, data mining, and data cleansing.

**Qualifications**
This is the perfect job opportunity for you if...
- You’re highly knowledgeable in the area of data analytics - you most likely have post-secondary education in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or another analysis-driven discipline.
- You are skilled in performing analysis on large, highly complex datasets - preferably due in part to your experience working with other free-to-play games and/or live-service games.
- Your highly analytical, detail-oriented mindset makes you one with the data - you can quickly identify anomalies, formulate theories to understand their cause, and brainstorm potential solutions.
- You enjoy getting your hands dirty and digging into the data - you have experience with SQL, R, Python, Unity and performing root cause, multiple regression, and sentiment analysis.
- You’re an excellent communicator - you’re able to effectively present your findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to various stakeholders.
- You’re passionate about games You have a deep knowledge of video games and geek culture. (Bonus points if you play Dungeons & Dragons or have played one of our games)
