**Proprietary Brands Specialist**

**Department**: Global Proprietary Brands

**Location**: 305 Milner Ave, Suite 400, Scarborough, Ontario, M1B 3V4

**Type**: 12 months contract with potential for permanent position
**Hybrid Mode**: 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely
**THE ROLE**
Reporting to the Director of Proprietary Brands, within our Global Proprietary Brands team, Proprietary Brands Specialist seeks and develops new opportunities for growth, manages the relationships with Suppliers, Manufacturers, Creative, Procurement and Operations as well as stewarding all necessary quality and safety controls, and is ultimately responsible for the superior execution of developed. The role will engage with several work groups in daily work, follow up timeline progress, track performance, deliver forecasting, facilitate business case modeling, analyze performance and present conclusions and recommendations.
**WHAT YOU’LL DO**
- As a member of our team, you will be responsible for helping to create a range of differentiated products throughout the Canadian market.
- Establish vendor relationships to build a pipeline of innovation initiatives and relevant product lines to rapidly grow the Private Brand business.
- Manage Private Brand categories and development of our private label business to secure optimal COGS, improved profitability, and differentiation in our markets.
- Manage product development and implementation with manufacturers, distributors, creative teams, Procurement and Operations and secure product placement of Private Brand products.
- Secure compliance of packaging, design, and legal requirements for products in collaboration with QA / Legal and required regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with Marketing teams to define communication objectives and work with the Director of Proprietary Brands on strategies for Private Brand marketing implementation and ongoing execution.
- Collaborate with Circle K Business units to secure adoption and implementation of products.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 2+ years experience in Private Brand vendor selection, management, supply chain and quality assurance in a retail or CPG environment;
- Category management and/or product development skills;
- Experience using marketing metrics, consumer insights and data to drive business decisions;
- Bachelor’s degree required;
- Project Management competencies are a plus;
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in Merchandising, Operations or related retail function;
- 20% Travel is required in North America, with some external travel possible;
- Valid Driver License;
- Level of English required: Fluent in English (oral & written);
- Level of French required: Bilingual preferred but not required;

**Additional Information**:

- 12 month contract with the possibility for full time employment;
- Work schedule of 40 hours per week;
- Location: Toronto;
- Hybrid: must be available to travel to the office 3 days per week.
