HR Generalist

_TruHarvest Meats is a growing, fast-paced meat processing facility with plenty of opportunities for career growth. We are looking for an HR Generalist who will work in collaboration with the HR Manager to ensure all HR related items are dealt with in an effective and timely manner. _

**Primary Focus**

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) Department including recruitment, processing payroll, administering benefits, handling matters pertaining to the plant operations at the facility including, enforcing company policies, accident/incident investigations, conditions of employment, staff training, absenteeism control programs, and other administrative tasks.

**Duties/Responsibilities**
- Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This includes safety training, anti-harassment training, and all other training as required.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for human resources related matters
- Facilitate the day-to-day operations of HR requirements through effective critical thinking, communication, and building relationships.
- Advise and train managers and employees on the interpretation of the human resources policies, compensation and benefit programs and collective agreement
- Monitor, support, and administer progressive discipline program as required
- Process weekly payroll for all employees, ensure compliance with Canadian payroll standards
- Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Actively lead and manage the occupational health and safety programs, conduct monthly health and safety walk throughs, certified in first aid and joint health and safety committee member.
- Conduct investigations in response to a range of employee concerns, and communicate regularly regarding pending investigations
- Facilitate the onboarding, and offboarding process for all employees
- Administrate employee benefits programs
- Administer WSIB processes, including completing accident reports, submitting WSIB forms, and liaising with managers, and third-party disability managers to support early and safe return to work prospects
- Maintain compliance with Canadian laws and employee legislation requirements to ensure compliance and best practices are being maintained
- Fosters and maintains positive relationships with company’s employees, vendors and stakeholders.
- Works in compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and all other relevant governmental legislation
- Performs other duties as assigned

**Education and Experience**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3-5 years’ progressive experience as a Human Resources Generalist preferably in unionized manufacturing environment
- CHRP/CHRL Designation preferred not required

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
