Proposal Manager

We are seeking a **Proposal Manager** to join our dynamic team in **Cambridge, ON**. In this role, you will lead the preparation of major proposal submissions and provide commercial support for proposals and contract changes. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring consistency and adherence to corporate processes and governance. **Key Responsibilities**:
**Proposals & Documentation**:

- Lead the preparation of major proposals, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate inputs from various functional areas and operating groups.
- Participate in and, when assigned, lead contract negotiations with customers.
- Chair Pricing Approval Request (PAR) meetings to secure bid approvals.
- Conduct turnover meetings to transition documentation to project teams.
- Provide strategic direction to procurement for cost and risk management.
- Collaborate with Account Management, Business Line Managers, Legal, and other stakeholders to develop and implement commercial strategies.
- Prepare and engage stakeholder reviews in customer negotiations.

**Commercial Support & Risk Management**:

- Lead accurate cost estimate preparations for major bids.
- Benchmark internal costs against industry standards to ensure competitiveness.
- Develop and manage internal risk management plans.
- Work with legal and business teams to evaluate and propose terms and conditions (T&C) that balance competitiveness and risk.
- Assist project managers with commercial claims and support subcontracting strategies.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma (Engineering/Technical or MBA preferred).
- 5-10 years of related experience with a solid understanding of project management principles.
- Proven relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and impact outcomes effectively.
- Strong negotiation and dispute resolution abilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- PMP designation (or working towards it) preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Terms & Conditions.
- Leadership skills in planning, delegation, accountability, and change implementation.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, and customer-focused.
