Key
**Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation of all dishes
- Set up and stock workstations with all necessary supplies before service begins
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, fryers, and ovens.
- Ensure proper portion control and minimize waste to keep costs within forecasted ranges.
- Monitor the quality and freshness of ingredients and products, adhering to proper food handling, labeling, and storage procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area, including equipment, surfaces, and storage areas, in compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth operations and timely food delivery.
- Assist with inventory checks and placing new orders for food and supplies as needed.
- Adapt to high-pressure situations and a fast-paced environment, remaining calm and efficient during busy service periods.
- Perform opening and closing duties for each assigned shift.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven cooking experience (e.g., Line Cook, Restaurant Cook, Prep Cook) in a fast-paced kitchen environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines and a valid Food Safety Certification (e.g., Food Safe Level 1) is an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly in food preparation and presentation.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to multitask effectively.
- Effective verbal communication skills and a positive, team-player attitude.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
