**Position Overview**:
The Parts Technician will oversee the Parts department at the Nisku location, including managing inventory, maintaining supplier relationships, participating in cost saving and value adding initiatives. The Parts Technician will work closely with the Maintenance Manager and Operations Manager to ensure accurate and timely procurement of required items, and sourcing new opportunities for increased value. The Parts Technician should be well versed in the heavy trucking industry and have a safety conscious mind-set.
**Responsibilities**:
- Receive, update, enter, and process PO’s.
- Manage and create workorders as truck maintenance/repair is in progress.
- Order parts as needed while maintaining accurate inventory counts.
- Track equipment repairs while mechanical work is in progress, updating workorders as needed.
- Coordinate with Maintenance Manager to finalize CVIP parts quotes.
- Make recommendations for improvements/efficiencies before implementing changes.
- Order parts for all work orders.
- Implement best practices and new policies to reduce shrinkage.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure smooth operation of the shop, implementation of changes, and creation of efficiencies.
- Work closely with Management team to develop best practices, inventory and cash-flow strategies.
- Assist Safety Manager in procurement and inventory tracking of safety supplies.
- Create workflow system for parts and inventory. Lead and coach techs on after-hours processes to ensure compliance for future parts requirements.
- Pick-up and deliver parts as needed.
- Conduct semi-annually parts inventory counts and/or rolling counts.
- Coordinate with Management team to secure parts, manage inventory, and establish supplier relationships.
- Maintain excellent vendor relationships.
- Advise mechanics on locating parts schematics.
- Promote a safe working environment and encourage a culture of safety amongst the team.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Parts Technician Designation or equivalent experience is required.
- Previous experience as a Parts Technician is an asset.
- Working knowledge of heavy duty, off-road, and automotive parts is preferred.
- Prior experience working in trucking industry is an asset.
- Prior experience using an ERP or inventory management system.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Outlook.
- Valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract.

**Hours of Work**:
The position requires a regular working schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, with the potential to work overtime or Saturdays as required.
**Work Environment**:
- Primary work environment is in a shop setting or parts bay.
- Travel to suppliers within Greater Edmonton area is required.
Physical Demands
This role may include physically strenuous work from time to time. The Parts Supervisor works in a shop environment and must be capable of bending, crouching, and lifting parts of up to 50 pounds in weight.
