The Cider House is the first of its kind Our beach side, cider-focused taphouse serves everything from burgers and pasta to tacos and some exceptionally unique plant-based dishes that complement our 20 taps of locally crafted B.C. Ciders. We are located at Yew & York Street in Kitsilano.

We are looking for an experienced and creative Head Chef or Kitchen Leader to join the team at our plant-based restaurant This individual will lead the kitchen staff and be responsible for the creative development and execution of delicious plant-based dishes.

We are looking for part-time or full-time chef / kitchen leader with a starting wage between $23-26 and up depending on experience and availability. This position is a 95% active role on the floor, 5 % administrative.

The Cider House is also hiring two line/prep cooks with a starting wage between $18-21+ depending on experience and availability.

Qualifications for kitchen lead:

- 1+ years as a chef or kitchen leader in a professional kitchen. Preference given to individuals with a passion and experience in plant-based cooking/creation
- Managing food safety and sanitation guidelines. Food Safe Level 1
- History of successful menu creation, development and maintenance
- An in-depth understanding and history of successful food and kitchen labour cost management
- Preparing ingredients for use in plant-based dishes
- Cooking plant-based dishes to order
- Maintaining a exceptionally clean and organized kitchen
- Working well with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service
- Knowledge of plant-based cooking and ingredients
- Ability to work under pressure and keep a cool head
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Passion for plant-based cooking and a commitment to the upmost in food quality
- A desire to build a career within an expanding organization
- Lives in Vancouver

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 15-40 per week

**Salary**: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
