AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Structural Engineer for immediate employment for Edmonton and/or Calgary, Alberta offices
You will be working with our team of senior engineers, EIT's, technologists, BIM/CAD designers and project managers who focus on delivering high quality and challenging structural design projects within the public and private sectors.
You will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other disciplines such as architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and civil engineers on larger projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
- Independently perform structural analysis and design of masonry, steel, concrete, and wood structures in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
- Prepare technical specifications and contribute to project documentation.
- Prepare structural analysis and calculation reports.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients to ensure efficient project execution.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and structural assessments to evaluate structure’s conditions and provide recommendations.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality, budget, and schedule expectations with little supervision.
- Provide technical or operational guidance to less experienced engineers, EIT’s and technicians.
- Stay updated on industry codes, regulations, and best practices to ensure high-quality design solutions.
**Qualifications** Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
- 2+ years of experience in structural engineering design and analysis.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is considered an asset
- Experience in structural design of commercial buildings, industrial plants, government facilities, municipal infrastructures, and transit stations.
- Proficiency in 3D structural analysis, modeling, and design software including but not limited to ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, SAFE, as well as other computer-aided design tools relevant to this role.
- Good written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency essential).
- Ability to recognize and adhere to established deadlines and schedules is a must.
- Ability to fit into a fast-paced team environment and/or work independently.
- Self-motivated, detail oriented and multi-tasking

- Company paid relocation is not available for this position
- Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position
- Travel to nearby cities may be required
