Indigenous Liaison Worker

**Position**:Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services, this new position is part of a grant aimed to forward the Division’s goals towards Truth and Reconciliation. The successful applicant will focus on 1) healing and reconciliation for families, 2) youth leadership, and 3) education and community building. Through capacity-building within school communities, personal connection with Indigenous students and enabling all school staff to embark on this journey, the positive outcomes will be felt in the hearts, minds, and spirits’ throughout our Division.
**Duties to Commence**:As soon as possible until June 30, 2026
**Educational Requirements**:
- Completion of a Social Work Diploma or Degree program, or equivalent post-secondary training and relevant experience.
**Qualifications & Duties**:
- Committed to being a model and witness to Christ-centered education values and beliefs.
- Dialogue with Indigenous families to guide our work in promoting spirituality and culture within our schools
- Support for our Indigenous Education Leads and school leadership teams who lead at the school level to action Truth and Reconciliation
- Exploration of language and cultural instruction in service to students
- Develop leadership teams to build capacity for Indigenous students to share knowledge, build understanding, and foster appreciation and a willingness to grow together towards Truth and Reconciliation in our school community
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with at-risk students, school learning teams, parents and community partners.
- Ability to manage a budget to maximize culture learning opportunities within the Division
- Provide support through relational interactions and activities.
