**Scope**:
**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Work alongside colleagues to build and implement EFC’s overall sustainability strategy, including vision, framework, and roadmap to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.
- Establish a system to collect data, track progress and support sustainability reporting initiatives.
- Draft, edit and prepare comprehensive reports such as EFC’s Sustainability Report and other communications tools for various stakeholders and audiences.
- Conduct research and assessments to further EFC’s understanding towards emissions sources, evaluate emission reduction opportunities, carbon markets and the global landscape as it relates to sustainability best practices and reporting standards.
- Evaluate government policies, regulations, and programs, and make recommendations towards how these initiatives apply, impact or support to the Canadian egg farming sector.
- Leverage domestic and international partnerships to uncover new information and knowledge of use to Canadian egg farmers, while also supporting the advancements of sustainability goals.
- Engage with stakeholders including provincial and territorial egg boards to learn about their sustainability goals, and share information and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for and undertake stakeholder consultations to stay informed on the egg value chain’s perspectives towards sustainability (e.g. materiality assessment).
- Work with Corporate and Public Affairs colleagues to integrate sustainability within other communications programs to further share EFC’s sustainability journey with Canadians.
- Manage an annual budget, oversee external suppliers and consultants, and contribute to cross functional teams.
- Support the Vice President of Corporate and Public Affairs on related files.
- Domestic travel is required.

***Qualifications and Skills**:

- Knowledge and experience with global sustainability standards and tools such as Global Reporting Initiative and Sustainable Development Goals.
- Experience in interpreting scientific information, data, graphs, and government regulations.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Strong collaborator and team player with the ability to work constructively with others.
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to multi-task and take initiative.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

**Education and Experience**:

- Post-secondary degree specializing in environmental science, sustainability, ESG, communications or a relevant field.
- 3 to 5 years or more years of relevant work experience.
