**Job profile**

The Environment and Sustainability Analyst is responsible for the association’s environmental and business sustainability activities including leading files related to these activities. This role involves working in collaboration with the Executive Director and other team members on specific feed industry related projects. Work can vary in nature, requiring a dynamic and adaptable person to complete it. Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to multi-task while working under pressure are requirements of this position.

**Main Accountabilities**:
Environmental sustainability:

- Developing and maintaining the association’s environmental sustainability workplan
- Leading all projects and initiatives related to environmental sustainability
- Acting as the staff lead on the ANAC Environmental Sustainability Committee
- Analyzing proposed and implemented government regulations and policies impacting the feed industry related to the environment
- Participating in relevant working groups as determined jointly with the Executive Director

Industry sustainability:

- Working with the Executive Director and other staff on projects related to the sustainability of the feed industry
- Supporting colleagues with other initiatives on an as needed basis

Communication:

- Contributing articles to a bi-weekly newsletter and special bulletins
- Developing of website content
- Developing fact sheets, guidance documents and information sheets for members, as required

Speaking engagements and presentations:

- Speaking publicly to stakeholders, members and other bodies, approximately 3 times per year, on topics relevant to sustainability and the feed industry

**Qualifications & Knowledge Requirements**:

- Undergraduate degree in environmental, agricultural or animal science or a related field is required. Consideration will be given for individuals with an undergraduate degree in another field with relevant work experience.
- Relevant post-graduate education would be advantageous
- A minimum of 2 years of work experience in environmental sustainability
- Ability to take technical information and relay it in a comprehensive manner to a non-technical audience
- Demonstrated public speaking and presentation skills
- Fluently bilingual in English and French (written and spoken) would be an asset
- Ability to travel 5% - 10% of time

The Animal Nutrition Association of Canada (ANAC) is the national trade association of the livestock feed industry. ANAC acts as the voice of the feed industry in dealings with government policy makers and regulators as well as agri-food stakeholders. Our efforts are aimed at fostering a favourable regulatory and business environment for our members, while supporting initiatives to maintain the highest standards of feed and food safety.

Pay: $70,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
