The International & Admissions Counselor (IAC) is the nucleus of the Admissions department. The IAC is the communication hub for the Director, and Registrar. It is imperative that the IAC consistently be aware of potential clients via leads; in-person, by internet, or by telephone. Maintenance of admissions requirements and all files is critical as it must meet the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities annual audit requirements. The IAC works closely and supports the Director of Max the Mutt Animation Inc.

**RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES**

**The IAC is required to perform a range of duties including but not limited to**:
**LEAD MANAGEMENT**
- Counsel prospective students regarding art-based career exploration and planning, and provide relevant program information to meet these needs.
- Coordinate Tours and Open House events by inviting students and families, initiating preliminary contact, and providing introductory information about the institution and various programs.
- Organize Open House materials (course calendars, brochures etc), visits, and follow-ups.
- Conduct Skype interviews with International Students to answer questions, provide academic/financial recommendations and assess English proficiency.
- Respond to requests for information and lead inquiries from High School visits, Career Days, and various Animation/Comic Conventions.
- Oversee online enrollment initiatives such as College411 and UC Education inbound marketing.
- Assist with website development, content edits, and admissions-related social media.
- Compile statistical lead information for Director as required.

**APPLICANT MANAGEMENT**
- Advise applicants regarding educational issues such as course and program selection, time tables and scheduling, school adjustment, attendance policies and study skills.
- Prepare applicant files and conduct preliminary assessment of applicants based on program-specific portfolio requirements.
- Administer and interpret standardized aptitude test for required applicants (CAST).
- Provide admissions counseling, financial recommendations, and housing support information to both prospective students, parents, and educational counselors.
- Compile international students' visa documentation to be used by the institution's Licensed Immigration Consultant to assist with the immigrations process.
- Maintain CampusLogin lead Database & Applicant Spreadsheet.

**STUDENT** **SERVICES**
- Oversee entire Enrollment Process (Applicant -
- Student).
- Organize International Orientation events and introduction materials for incoming students.
- Facilitate academic counseling and individual advising appointments for new and current international students.
- Refer students with crisis, personal, and social issues to appropriate counseling care.
- Assist with Year 1 Scholarship Applications, preparing applicant files and assessing requirements.
- Maintain and update student contracts, payments and other financial documentation to be transferred to the Registrar and Accounting Department.
- Process necessary international student documentation for Immigration Consultant.
- Provide Acceptance/Enrollment documentation and other supporting materials for incoming students.

**RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT**
- Oversee institution's compliance under both ISP and CIC, monitoring changes in government policy, and providing recommendations to meet these changes.
- Represent the institution as the designated contact under ISP and CIC for confirming and reporting ongoing enrollment.
- Research and implement student recruitment strategies for increased enrollment of international and domestic students.
- Review registration statistics and consult with faculty officials to develop registration policies.
- Plan and assess return on investment for admissions-related projects, programs, and services.
- Draft and edit various documentation for Designation, Acceptance Contracts, and Enrolment to ensure conformance with the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
- Advise president/director of institution and coordinate flow of communication with the Registrar, Recruitment, and Accounting Department.

**HOURS**

Saturday and Sunday 10-6, Monday through Wednesday 10:30-6:30, with occasional later evenings as needed. Approximately 35 hours/week total.

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
