Parts Supply Specialist

Reporting to the Manager of Supply, the Parts Supply Specialist forecasts demand, purchases inventory, maintains inventory levels with mínimal obsolete inventory and minimizes shortages, performs reporting and data analysis functions related to automotive parts supply. Additionally, this position is responsible for data mining with the intention to help management make critical business decisions.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Monitor inventory levels, forecast and place necessary orders for Canadian Distribution network
- Review variances and resolve problems or back-order issues by dealing with suppliers and support staff
- Maintain records on the quantity, type and value of materials in the PDC
- Track information regarding stock replenishment, relocation and inventory adjustments
- Identify and report to management any potential material sourcing problems
- Analyze, report and provide relevant information to management to assist with high level decision making
- Make recommendations for process and procedure changes required to improve overall supply chain efficiency
- Prepare supply planning reports as required
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- 1-3 years' experience in inventory management/planning/supply chain/purchasing
- Degree/diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain and/or Economics
- Strong computer skills, including Advanced Excel, Access/Data warehouse, Power Point
- Ability to understand and execute direction
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Must be team oriented and customer service focused
- Solid organization and time management skills
