**Part-Time Professor - Early Childhood Education - Orangeville**

Located in Orangeville and reporting to the Associate Dean, Human Services and Community Safety, the incumbent develops and delivers a course in the Human Services and Community Safety academic area for the Early Childhood Education program. Courses may be scheduled and delivered during the day or evening and are planned to be delivered in person at the Orangeville campus. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

- Delivers a course in the Early Childhood Education program (potential courses included, but are not limited to):

- ECED2012 - Legislation and Standards of Practice
- ECED 2027 Inclusive Learning and Practice
- Develops and delivers appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives
- Incorporates a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs
- Evaluates student progress / achievement
- Participates in program and college activities as required
- Participates in program revisions and renewal activities as required
- Creates and maintains a positive learning environment

Qualifications:

- Successfully completed a diploma and/or degree in Early Childhood Education
- Current member (or eligible to register) with the College of Early Childhood Educators (Registered Early Childhood Educators)
- A minimum of five years’ experience in the field of early childhood education with front line experience working with children 0-8 years old
- Leadership experience in early learning and education
- Understanding of the pedagogy in Ontario under the Ministry of Education, Reggio Emilia educational philosophy and experience supporting nature-based play and learning are key assets
- 3 years of experience in teaching (face-to-face and online modalities) and curriculum development at the post-secondary level or equivalent experience as a facilitator in the field
- Experience creating and facilitating experiential learning opportunities (ex. field placement, community-service learning, community engaged research and scholarship, social innovation, etc.)
- Extensive experience in working with children, youth and families experiencing complex needs of mental health challenges, behavioural issues and suicide risk assessment and treatment
- Experience working with, and an intimate understanding of, issues impacting outcomes for systemically excluded populations
- Proven commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Decolonization practice including knowledge and experience of working with diverse communities
- Experience embracing change and leading innovation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to life-long learning
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in students
- Experience in some or all of the following is an asset: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, learning methodologies, academic advising, and student success strategies
- Master’s degree in a related field would be considered an asset

Acceptable proof of education (degree, credentials) from recognized post secondary institutions or confirmation of international equivalencies will be required as part of selection process
