Role: Controller / Book Keeper

Location: Brantford, ON

Your Key Responsibilities:

- Handling all aspects of accounting operations including cash management, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Overseeing cash disbursements, payroll, and bank reconciliation processes.
- Reviewing financial contracts, insurance policies, and other relevant documents.
- Regulatory reporting preparation.
- Ensuring compliance with provincial and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies.
- Monitoring and following up on outstanding customer invoices.
- Reconciling bank accounts and vendor statements.
- Maintaining historical records and orderly accounting filing system.
- Preparing payroll from employee timesheets and other related documents.
- Completing and processing invoices for extra work.
- Keeping track of time per customer sites and providing reports for management.
- Handling day-to-day management of business management software.

What You Bring:

- At least 5 years of experience in accounting and finance.
- Expertise in QuickBooks and Excel.
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and people management skills.
- Experience in service industry is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- The ability to adapt and learn new software.

**Requirements**:

- Applicants should be able to commute or plan to relocate to Brantford, ON.
- At least 2 years of experience with QuickBooks Online, 1 year of leadership experience, and 1 year of experience in the construction industry are required.

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

- 8 hour shift

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Accounting: 5 years (required)
- QuickBooks Online: 3 years (required)
