**MILL ACCOUNTING, ASSOCIATE**

The Mill Accounting Associate (MA) is a member of the Finance team, reporting to the Manager - Mil Accounting. The MA is responsible to assist with the Mill Accounting functions which includes the preparation of production and material consumption data, inventory balances and reconciliations, management of outside processor inventories (includes production, shipments, validation of invoices and approvals of same). This function requires strong teamwork and communication skills to seamlessly interact with staff and management.

**Your day-to-day**:
**General**
- Oversees all aspects of physical inventory records, ensuring accurate book value, reconciliations, physical counts, systems and tools
- Ensures accurate and timely recording of all inventory transactions to meet financial reporting requirements
- Track raw material, work-in-progress and finished goods inventories
- Report on inventory activities and variances
- Performs regular oversight of inventory records maintenance, performing cycle counts, annual physical inventories, reconciliation of inventory disparities, etc
- Assist with inventory adjustments, as needed, and determines appropriate product/location set up and movements within the enterprise resource planning system (ERP)
- Monitor and analyze negative inventory balances, identify root cause and drive corrective action
- Provide reports and results of data analysis to senior management
- Support the procurement team with inventory information and analysis to support business decisions
- Assist with period aerial surveys with external parties for measurement of landed material piles on site
- Ensure all receipts are properly received for quantity and quality and ensuring adequate segregation of duties
- Support the year-end external audit

**Month End Close**
- Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring IFRS compliance for the company
- Responsible for maintenance, accuracy and integrity of inventory ledger financial balances
- Oversees for all raw material inventory costing in accordance with IFRS

**What you bring to the table**

**Job Qualifications**:

- University undergraduate degree
- Proficiency in Excel and Word
- General knowledge of manufacturing process
- Experience with Microsoft D365 is an asset

**A valid Drivers License and Vehicle is required**

**Job Skills and Knowledge**:

- Good communication, organizational and planning skills
- Technical ability to understand proper internal controls and business systems, problem solving for new situations, effective communication to all disciplines, judgement as to materiality
- Requires knowledge of inventory policies and procedures
- Effective planning, organizing and delegating of activities, communication with coordinators, operating management and Cost department
- Critical analysis of outputs for accuracy and reasonableness, performing under time deadlines
