Position Summary
The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that customer orders are fabricated and delivered to the customer in a timely fashion. The successful incumbent in the role will be responsible for receiving orders from our Planning team, discussing fabrication schedules with the shop and communicating delivery dates with the customer..
Position Functions
- Receive customer orders and advise customer when material will be available
- Receive or generate production tags for all outgoing material
- Organize tag files by priority to ensure customer commitments are met
- Issue tags to the Operations Supervisor
- Post schedule board with customer commitments and update with customer delivery details
- Receive information from the Operations Supervisor regarding order progress
- Coordinate delivery of materials with customers and make note of when and where placers are required
- Enter order information into database
- Generate and issue the appropriate bill of lading to comply with invoicing requirements
- Schedule and coordinate delivery of materials with customers
- Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions
The successful incumbent will be working 40+ hours per week in an office setting as well as the shop floor. Ongoing use of computers is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-Secondary education in office administration, supply chain or logistics program
- 5 years experience in a customer service/customer facing role
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google suite of products
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Meticulous records maintenance skills.
- Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team.
- Strong customer service orientation.
