Manage the team’s performance results and resource needs.
- Oversee projects and initiatives that improve our workflow, delegated authority and processes.
- Advocate for the needs of your team as a member of the leadership structure.
- Participate in changes to technical specifications and report standards to ensure current best practices in the field of municipal engineering are being followed.
- Coordinate issue escalations from Citizens, Councillors, or other City Business Units.
- Represent engineering decisions at Calgary Planning Commission and Council.
- Act as the APEGA Responsible Member for the Utility Generalist team.
- Mentor and coach staff as it relates to the City’s role in the land development process.

**Qualifications**
***Degree in Engineering, registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada, and current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) or licensure by the first day of work.
At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience.
Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
You can effectively manage resources to achieve results aligned with business goals and develop strategic direction and solutions to address current and future challenges.
Success in this role will be dependent on the following competencies: strong stakeholder engagement/management skills, strong communication skills, collaboration, problem solving, strategic thinking and negotiation skills.
