Madison Greenhouse Event Venue offers a lush indoor garden setting in Ontario, perfect for weddings and events.
**Job Overview**
As a Greenhouse Business Consultant, you will provide expert guidance to the owner and his team of the greenhouse. We are looking for a farm expert who can guide us choosing the right plants for the greenhouse come wedding place, nurturing requirements of the plants, provide a guide to maintenance and also suggest to us how we can link the greenhouse learnings with the farm production outside the greenhouse. Your primary focus will be on researching the best practices, establishing link between farm and greenhouse and overall business strategy. You will analyze existing operations, identify areas for improvement, and recommend tailored solutions to enhance productivity and profitability of the greenhouse and farm produce.
**Duties**
- **Operational Analysis**:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of greenhouse operations, including production methods, resource management, and supply chain processes.
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend best practices.
- **Sustainability Practices**:
- Advise clients on sustainable practices, including energy efficiency, water management, and waste reduction.
- Assist in implementing environmentally friendly technologies and practices.
- **Business Strategy Development**:
- Help clients formulate and implement business plans, including market analysis and financial projections.
- Guide clients in establishing performance metrics and monitoring systems.
- **Market Research**:
- Stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and regulations affecting greenhouse operations.
- Share insights with clients to help them stay competitive.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agricultural Science or a related field or relevant experience.
- Proven experience in greenhouse management, consulting, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of sustainable agricultural practices and technologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., MS Office, greenhouse management software).
**Job Types**: Casual, Freelance
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 - 10 per week
