**PURPOSE**
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities of maintenance employees and maintaining equipment in good working order to ensure production requirements can be met
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Oversee and lead a team of maintenance staff (including millwrights, electricians, technicians, and maintenance helpers)
- Preparing weekly maintenance schedules and delegating maintenance responsibilities to maintenance team
- Providing clear direction on daily bases for Maintenance team
- Maintain up to date records of all maintenance activity, and analyze machinery downtime/utilization and implement solution to ensure that equipment operates at rated efficiencies
- Inspecting / check facility and equipment and determine problem and necessary maintenance action
- Ensuring health and safety policies and procedures are followed by all team members
- Ensure that all personnel within the department are trained in safety standards and these standards are being monitored
- Create maintenance weekly schedule
- Provide training and ongoing mentorship to maintenance employees
- Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance
- Participate in coordination of projects
- Assist in designing, planning, locating, negotiating, and purchasing of new equipment for plant expansion
- Ensure the building, machinery, and services ( electricity, steam, ammonia, etc.) confirm with and are maintained to legislative requirements
**PRIMARY INTERACTIONS**
Maintenance and setup mechanics, production staff, salaried employees, suppliers
**COMPETENCIES**
- Must have technical skills and knowledge of various trade such as Mechanical, Electrical, plumbing, refrigeration
- Must have good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral along with excellent computes skills
- Good knowledge on CMMS programs
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in high volume manufacturing positions
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience supervising people in food manufacturing operation
- Red seal ticket (millwright or Electrical) or post-secondary education in engineering field is preferred
- Having 4th class boiler ticket is an asset

Daily workload is split between plant floor and office. Availability to trouble-shoot problems on second shifts and weekend required. Requires mínimal physical effort. Some travel required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where problems occur and volumes are heavy. Tasks do not expose employee to physically unpleasant or hazardous conditions.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
