**Purpose**:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities of maintenance employees and maintaining equipment in good working order to ensure production requirements can be met.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Assist in designing, planning, locating, negotiating and purchasing of new equipment for plant expansion
- Provide leadership for equipment installation and secure resources to achieve rated speeds and safe operation within specified timelines
- Ensure the building, machinery, and services (electricity, steam, ammonia etc.) conform with and are maintained to legislative requirements
- Design, coordinates and implement modifications required to fine tune production process.
- Compile/maintain operation statistics/reports for the department
- Analyze machinery down time/utilization and implement solutions to ensure that equipment operates at rated efficiencies
- Ensure that all personnel within the department are trained in safety standards and these standards are being monitored
- Act as primary point of contact and key resource person to meet with equipment suppliers in bringing latest improvements to the company
- Manage a team of maintenance staff (including millwrights, electricians, technicians, maintenance helpers) to carry out day to day maintenance work
- Provide direction to undertake preventive and predictive maintenance
- All employees are responsible for food and safety quality
- All employees are responsible to report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action***

**Requirements**:
**Competencies**:

- A minimum of 10 years' experience in high volume manufacturing positions
- A minimum of 5 years' experience supervising people in manufacturing operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to provide quality customer service
- Detail oriented
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to effectively interact with persons at all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to lead and manage projects to completion

**Education and Experience**:

- Mechanical Engineer with a of **minimum 3 years**' experience in food processing plants
- Millwright and/or Electrician red seal ticket is an advantage.
- Class 4 Boiler Ticket is an advantage.

**Compensation and Benefits**:

- $80,000-$100,000(commensurate with experience and location).
