**CASUAL LABOURERS (SUMMER STUDENTS) - Division Schools**

**We are looking to hire 2 temporary Casual Labourers (Summer Students) to support our Division Schools. These assignments are to commence May 1, 2025 and terminate August 29, 2025. These positions are covered under the CUPE 290 collective agreement.**

**The Summer Student/Labourer assists Journeypersons and Maintenance Specialists in building construction, maintenance, and repairs; receives daily tasks from the Lead Maintenance Specialist or designate; assists in the transportation of materials, equipment, furniture and other goods within the Division. The nature of the work may require strenuous physical effort in completion of duties alongside maintenance team members.**

**EDUCATION**:

- **High School Diploma;**:

- **First Aid Certificate;**:

- **WHMIS Certificate;**:

- **Fire extinguisher use;**:

- **Mobile Aerial Work Platform training;**:

- **Confined Space Entry and Rescue training;**:

- **Skid Steer Operator training;**:

- **Fall Protection training;**:

- **Ladder Safety training;**:

- **OH&S training.
**REQUIREMENTS**:

- **Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License;**:

- **Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract;**:

- **Ability to operate a vehicle with trailer;**:

- **Effective and proven team skills and ability to work independently;**:

- **Good mechanical aptitude in the operation of power hand tools, motorized equipment and vehicles;**:

- **Good knowledge of materials, tools, and equipment related to building construction and groundskeeping;**:

- **Professional conduct, appearance and attitude.
**The starting rate for this position is $19.11 per hour plus 4% vacation pay.**
