**Overview**
- Lafarge is recruiting a
- **Heavy Duty Mechanic** for a permanent position located in Edmonton, AB.- Heavy Duty Mechanics are responsible for equipment used in all areas of the plant. A high level of safety
- practices must be used at all times.**Responsibilities**:

- Preventative maintenance service
- General equipment and vehicle repairs
- Maintain paper and electronic records
- Diagnose and repair On-Road Truck deficiencies
- Maintain fleet and shop equipment
- Production environment troubleshooting and repairs
- Able to perform service calls when needed
- Accountabilities:
- General safety in and around equipment and operating plant
- Reporting unsafe job sites and procedures
- Maintain a positive image to the customers and the general public
- Ability to plan work and self-direct
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and works well within a team atmosphere

**Qualifications**:

- Education:
- Valid Journeyman ticket
- Experience and Skill Set:
- Knowledge and experience with hydraulics and air brakes
- Knowledge and experience with gas and diesel engines
- Knowledge and experience with electrical systems and schematics
- Knowledge and experience with CVIP program
- Prefer experience with on-road vehicle’s
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
- The working environment is indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, as well as extreme heat and dust in certain parts of the plant.**_As part of our dedicated focus on the health and safety of all employees, a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing and a criminal record check, may be required._**
