Company Introduction: T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 31 stores across the country: 13 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 10 in Ontario, and 1 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.

The Role: Reporting to the Kitchen Department Head, the Kitchen Assistant Department Head provides hands on support to the Kitchen DH in the department’s daily operation and management to ensure that it is functioning under good conditions.

Major Responsibilities: 1. Greet customers by providing good customer service with smile, friendly enthusiasm

2. Provides hands on support and assistance to the

Department Head in the following aspects:
(a) Manage department performance and attain

departmental goals

(b) Manage and supervise department daily operation

and staff performance

(c) Provide coaching, on-the-job training, shadowing,

guidance to department staff

(d) Supervise Kitchen Assistants, ensure fair distribution

of work and daily checklists are strictly executed

(e) Promoting teamwork and create an inclusive

working environment

3. Familiar with products ordering, its process and

execution

4. Follow company’s pricing principle and partner closely

with the pricing strategies of Merchandising Department

5. Conduct quality and inventory control, responsible for

the cleanliness, hygiene, equipment and tools

maintenance follow up and workplace safety of the

department

6. Oversea product quality, food safety, freshness and

ensure FIFO is strictly practiced within the department

7. Maintain and update UPC pricing, verify and ensure

product labeling are properly done

8. Ensure (BBQ, Hot Foods, Dim Sum, Sushi and/or others) are properly packaged and displayed

9. Lead by example by performing all hands on duties

required in the Kitchen Department

10. Maximize customers’ satisfaction, build rapport with our customers by providing good smile, eye contact and

attention to them; handle customers’ complaints, if any

strictly executed

11. Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements: 1. Demonstrate job commitment, accountable, reliable

2. Possess basic knowledge in controlling profit and loss and

interpreting data and market information

3. Possess a positive proactive, self-motivated work attitude

4. Good attendance record, comply with company’s rules and regulations
