**The Hospital for Sick Children and the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto**

**Division Head, Neurology, Department of Paediatrics**

Join our team and be part of our bold new strategy for Precision Child Health to usher in a new generation of discovery, prevention, and treatment for children worldwide.

The Division of Neurology is seeking a full-time permanent faculty position as Head, Neurology, Department of Paediatrics, at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), 555 University Ave., Toronto, ON, which is an academic health science centre dedicated to the care of children: affiliated with the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.

Achievements in our clinical and research integration agenda have led to a foundational philanthropic gift to create the Garry Hurvitz Centre for Brain & Mental Health, with a vision to leverage innovative programs in research, education and advocacy. The Head, Division of Neurology will also have the opportunity to be considered for a leadership role for the Hurvitz Centre for Brain & Mental Health and serve as a strategic advisor and steward of the philanthropic funds to achieve the Centre vision.

The Division’s specialized programs are organized around areas of subspecialty focus: epilepsy & neurophysiology, headache, movement disorders, neonatal neurology, neurohospitalist medicine, neuroinflammatory, neuromuscular, neurometabolic, as well as sleep and stroke.

The Division offers an internationally respected comprehensive and accredited subspecialty residency programs. Trainees have come from all over Canada, and the world to pursue fellowships, with a strong clinical foundation as well as clinical translational, and basic research.

Dedicated to supporting the growing diversification and spectrum of specialized clinical services, this role also provides unique opportunities for creative and professional activities and innovative translational and basic research across the neurological specialties. Globally important research programs continue to underpin the spectrum of research collaborations attracting funding for all aspects of neurosciences and mental health.

The successful applicant will hold a leadership role and will possess mentoring experience with a track record of academic and research excellence improving neurological disorders. The applicant will demonstrate a vision for child and youth health and a strategy for maximizing the potential of the Division on an international level.
