Field Placement Coordinator

Reporting to the Director, Clinical and Experiential Learning (CEL), the Field Placement Coordinator is responsible for developing, promoting, coordinating, implementing and maintaining Co-op sites in consultation with the program coordinator. The incumbent supports all faculty and site supervisor relationships for the Regulatory Affairs (RA) program. The incumbent supports all eligible students in obtaining a Co-Op placement by the start of the relevant term. As a member of the Office of Clinical and Experiential Learning, the incumbent participates in reviewing and revising RA specific and CEL general processes.
What You’ll be Doing
Arranging and coordinating Co-op sites for the Regulatory Affairs (RA) program for all relevant cohorts; determining and managing lists of students scheduled for placement;
Seeking out, vetting, developing and maintaining community partner relationships;
Supporting and advising students and clinical faculty when issues arise during placement;
Managing the RA student Co-op databases through Sheridan Works;
Consulting with the RA Program Coordinator regarding Co-op scheduling issues and needs;
Liaising with the WIL Co-op team;
Reassessing Co-op sites on a routine basis;
Supporting Co-op locations based on students’ needs and availability of placement sites;
Providing external partners with support, regular information and feedback regarding program changes and expectations;
Compiling, reviewing and distributing Co-op materials to students, placement sites and faculty, support staff and program coordinators;
Teaching and facilitating a Co-op specific course for RA students;
Conducting site visits as required by students, faculty and/or agencies;
Educating and informing students, clinical instructors, placement supervisors, Sheridan faculty and program coordinators about the RA Co-op model, policies, procedures and requirements of the College and placement site including any required document verification;
Attending Clinical and Experiential Learning team meetings and program meetings when required;
Attending WIL Co-op team meetings where possible/appropriate;
Engaging as an active member of the Office of Clinical and Experiential Learning including development of new/revised processes and infrastructure;
Conducting pre-placement classroom meetings, presentations/workshops with students and/or clinical instructors to educate them about the Co-op requirements, policies and procedures needed to secure a Co-op;
Developing, reviewing and revising Co-op evaluation tools in collaboration with the program coordinator;
Establishing and maintaining administrative policies, procedures and documentation requirements for Co-op related issues;
Responding to student and field inquiries about Co-op requirements;
Providing a link with program faculty and Professional Advisory Council members to ensure consistency between program curriculum and Co-op;
Work with the co-op site to arrange for any documentation or agreements required;
Draft and coordinate signing of MOU and/or FEA as appropriate;
Performing other related duties as assigned.

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present to diverse audiences and communities.
Bachelor’s degree in a related health care field, along with a minimum of 2-years experience in an administrative/coordinating role working with a variety of community resources, using marketing and public relations skills and techniques. (Equivalency will be considered).
Knowledge of and experience in Regulatory Affairs including government regulations.
Demonstrated project management skills is an asset.
Experience in an educational role supporting and guiding students is considered an asset.
Experience in stakeholder engagement.
The ability to use mediation and conflict resolution skills is required.

**Hourly Rate**: $28.73 + 4% in lieu of benefits and vacation.
