Coordinator, Medical Staff Recruitment

**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager, Medical Staff Recruitment, the Coordinator, Medical Staff Recruitment supports the efficient and effective functioning of medical staff recruitment activities to meet the Island Health Medical Staff Resource Plan. This position communicates directly with the Director, Medical Staff Support, Corporate Director, Medical and Academic Affairs, Executive Medical Directors, Medical Directors and Department Heads for the respective programs, and Chiefs of Staff/Site Administrators, to support the recruitment of medical staff to Island Health.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Diploma in business, health or public administration or related field and five (5) years' related experience, preferably within a healthcare environment.
**Skills And Abilities**:
- Ability to function independently and organize workload and establish priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and function effectively as a member of a team
- Evidence of superior customer service, communication and relationship building skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills appropriate to working with all levels of personnel, government bodies, outside agencies and physicians.
- Ability to manage confidential and restricted material in a professional manner and maintain positive relationships.
- Ability to work within an environment that includes high volume, multiple tasks and stringent deadlines.
- Demonstrated capability of decision making/problem solving within predetermined guidelines utilizing sound judgement.
- Ability to prioritize and manage a diverse and fluctuating workload to ensure deadlines are met.
- Proficiency in current personal computer hardware and software technologies.
- Knowledge or experience with accounting, analyzing data, physician and international recruitment.
