NSSL is looking for a fleet Manager to manage and administer, at a national level, all activities across the equipment life cycle.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Assists with procurement activities required to support daily operations, maintenance, and asset management.
- Prepares and manages fleet/equipment inventory and procurement plans.
- Establishes and develops a base of vehicle suppliers and commercial fleet service providers.
- Manages the fleet contracts, vendors, and contract deliverables.
- Develops and maintains systems and procedures for the management of fleet documentation.
- Developing, implementing, updating, and enforcing fleet management best practices and procedures in consultation with all users and stakeholders
- Works with others to ensure fleet and equipment is procured to support service expansion and asset management activities.
- Research fleet and equipment cost and provides recommendations for new units; assists with lifecycle replacement plans.
- Coordinates the fleet renewal process and maintenance practices.
- Administration of vehicle health monitoring systems to ensure vehicles are being monitored and maintained.
- Coordinate, administer and monitor the maintenance, repair, replacement, and logistics of company equipment.
- Administration of asset and fuel management systems ensuring that systems are functioning to support operations and contractual obligations.
- Control transfer and movement of vehicles between locations as required by operations
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge and data on regulations pertaining to commercial vehicles and their operation.
- Provides technical support in the field for problems relating to the operation or maintenance of vehicles.
- Continually evaluates new trends and technologies with respect to transport equipment and related operating strategies.
- Organizes trials of new transport technologies to assess their potential and impact on H&S and quality.
- Provide recommendations for lowering vehicle-operating expenses and reducing idle time of vehicles
- Administers the disposal of surplus transit vehicles and equipment.
- Provide reports on the status of the equipment
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in Health and Safety or Transportation or Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years experience in Fleet Management
- Experience working with OEM
- Knowledge and experience in principals and practices of procurement, asset inventory, fuel management, asset management, and vehicle monitoring systems, data management and reporting.
- Experience in contract negotiations with a solid knowledge of contract language and legislative requirements.
- Knowledge and understanding of green technologies such as battery electric vehicles, battery storage devices, charging equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with individuals, and external agencies.
- Knowledge of fleet practices, processes, and administration.
- Capacity to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Capacity to use analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex problems; creative problem-solving skills; initiative.
- Hold a valid G license
- Ability to travel within Canada and the USA.
