**Indigenous Recruitment & Liaison Coordinator**:
Reporting directly into the Project Manager, the Recruitment and Liaison Coordinator develops and implements key recruitment and retention strategies in a manner that provides a positive and active on-the-job experience for craft and staff employees. Working with the Coordinator. Through active participation and communication with local Lower Mainland Indigenous communities and project managers and superintendents, this position manages expectations on both sides to achieve the greatest Indigenous employee retention as well as ensuring the maximization of both employment and training.

**What you'll do**
- Develops collaborative Indigenous Retention Strategies.
- Monitors new hire adjustments to the worksite and production standards and provides support to enhance employee retention and develop skill set to succeed in the construction industry.
- Establishes and maintains communication with mentors and worksite supervisors focusing on employee retention and development.
- Provides support adapted to each IPP participant and operates in compliance with Seaspan’s probation period during which new employees are evaluated.
- Assists in identifying job skills required for each phase of construction. Analyzes existing skills and employment goals of individuals. Identifies gaps between skills required and individual’s existing skills.
- Monitors the existing pre-employment programs (IE: ISETS and ACCESS programs).
- Communicates employment opportunities to Indigenous communities.
- Assists in issues resolution for employees in the IPP.
- Prepares cultural topics for ongoing foreman training during all phases of work.
- Participates in regular foreman training meetings to promote ongoing cultural awareness during all phases of work.
- Monitors and reports on Indigenous employment levels to the project manager.
- Leads recruitment initiatives for IPP in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team.
- Provides on-site services for all employees who may encounter problems with their work or home situations while working on the Project.
- Represent Seaspan Shipyards on the Project Team comprised of MST and Seaspan Value Proposition people.
- With the Project Team, support the development of learning collateral, such as a career mapping program, youth work experience program, marketing and recruitment, etc.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

**What you'll bring**
- Bachelor's degree or similar training in Human Resources or related field.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities, community engagement and community/organizational development.
- Experience with full cycle recruitment working with major project contractors.
- Ability to enhance relations with job site supervisors and increase new worker retention.
- Knowledge of federal and provincial employment legislation; and Employment Standard Act.
- Passion for service excellence and business enablement.
- Effective and self-motivated collaborator, with communication and presentation skills, able to build consensus across various level of the organization.
- Strategic problem solver, who can work in a fast-paced environment.
- Digital literacy including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of worksite culture, skill requirements and production standards.
