JABC is seeking a strategic and relationship-driven
Program Coordinator, Indigenous Communities
in the Lower Mainland area, to support the coordination, delivery, and operational success of JABC's growing Company Program for Indigenous Learners (CPI). Reporting to the Senior Manager, Indigenous Communities, this role ensures the smooth day-to-day functioning of the teacher-led and self-directed programs, including coordination of educator and volunteer engagement, data administration, customer inquiries, reporting, and more.
The program is growing quickly, and there is a strong possibility that this temporary position will evolve into a permanent role. Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Indigenous Communities, your key responsibilities include:
Program Coordination & Delivery
- Oversee scheduling, logistics, and regular communication with school contacts and Indigenous Support Workers to ensure classrooms are prepared and resourced for each session.
- Coordinate volunteer assignments, delivery of program materials, attendance tracking, session coverage and other duties to ensure uninterrupted delivery of programming.
- Attend in-person and virtual meetings and program sessions to provide support and insight as needed
Volunteer Management & Training
- Coordinate the recruitment, onboarding, and stewardship of volunteers in collaboration with the Community Engagement team.
- Deliver volunteer orientation and training sessions, ensuring all facilitators are culturally informed, equipped, and supported throughout their involvement.
- Provide ongoing volunteer communication, weekly updates, and follow-up support to ensure retention and engagement.
Administrative & Data Management
- Ensure all student attendance, consent forms, and photo release documentation are tracked and filed for compliance.
- Support the collection of impact data, student feedback, and success stories for reporting and storytelling purposes.
- Maintain up-to-date program records, schedules, and reporting data within JABC systems such as Salesforce and OneDrive.
- Support the preparation of materials and logistics for, but not limited to, meetings, graduations, recognition events and community presentations.
- Use the recorded data to create reports as requested.
- Respond to incoming inquiries regarding programs and volunteer opportunities.
Community Engagement & Representation
- Represent JABC at community events, school celebrations, and volunteer recognition gatherings.
- Act as an ambassador for the program to help recruit volunteers and new schools, particularly through Indigenous community connections and events.
- Travel to school sites and partner locations as requested across the Lower Mainland and surrounding regions.
Collaboration & Support
- Assist in the creation of an Indigenous alumni network and ongoing student engagement initiatives.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications
We're seeking an ideal candidate with developing organizational and project management skills, proficient customer service abilities, and technical competence. Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM system is considered an advantage
The Program Coordinator should be an independent self-starter who thrives on managing data, coordinating multiple projects, and interacting with diverse internal and external interest-holders. Familiarity with or willingness to learn about Indigenous perspectives, cultures and teachings is important for success in this role. The candidate should possess effective communication skills to engage authentically with Indigenous communities.
Other qualifications of the ideal candidate include:
- 1- 3 years of experience, or equivalent, of project management or coordinating educational or community programs.
- Ability to travel regularly within Lower Mainland and provide in-person support across program sites.
- Familiarity with Indigenous communities, cultural values, and educational environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Demonstrated administrative proficiency in organizational writing, presentations, scheduling, and data entry.
- Passion for youth development and commitment to reconciliation through education.
- Experience working with Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe) and Salesforce (or similar CRM).

Compensation
This is a term position, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday until June 30, 2026, with the possibility of extension. This position may require the individual to attend events during evenings and weekends. The salary range for this role is $50,000 to $55,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
An offer of employment with JABC is conditional upon the successful completion of reference checks along with a successful criminal record and vulnerable sector check, as required by applicable laws and regulations.
