Yard Supervisor

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Supervise and coordinate the daily yard operations
- Manage and approve time-off requests, approve hours worked in timekeeping systems, oversee vacation scheduling
- Develop and train Yard Workers
- Oversee daily yard operations with a safety-first attitude
- Load and unload delivery vehicles in a safe manner with frequent lifting up to 50lbs
- Pick orders with accuracy
- Count, stack, and organize scaffold gear
- Complete safety checks and inspections of gear and equipment
- Keep yard clean and organized
- Operate company vehicle to deliver gear to customer or project sites as required
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by adhering to safe work practices and the Northstar Scaffold Safety Philosophy
- Use and clean tools required on the worksite
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Previous work experience in an Order Picker or Material Handler role preferred
- 2+ years’ experience leading a team

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Proven ability to lead a team and enforce safety policies
- Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures
- Capable of lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50lbs and occasionally up to 100lbs
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment
- Ability to take initiative and work with mínimal supervision under tight time constraints
- Punctual and consistent with reliable means of travel to/from work
- A Team Player who works well with others and trains new members as required
- Good communication skills verbal and written
- Good organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills
- Willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Scaffold knowledge or forklift license an asset
- Previous work experience as an Order Picker, Receiving/ Put-away, or Material Handler role preferred
