- We are looking to add an experienced, self-directed, and results-oriented Accounting Assistant to our team. Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Accounting, you are responsible to help ensure the integrity of our accounting information. In addition, we will be looking to you for ideas and feedback on systems, tools, and processes to support our drive for continual improvement.

**Responsibilities**:

- Accounts Payable - receipt and verification of vendor invoices, resolution of invoice discrepancies, inputting invoices, obtaining payment approval, processing weekly cheque runs & wire transfer payments, responding to vendors’ inquiries, and account reconciliation
- Accounts Receivable - generating invoices, entering payments, and data entry as required
- Subledger and General ledger analysis, investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Preparing and filing monthly GST, and PST returns
- Performing month-end bank reconciliations
- Reviewing and reconciling company credit card statements
- Assisting with month-end and year-end processes
- Assisting with preparation of budgets, expense allocation, and analysis of financial results
- Assisting with company payroll preparation and processing
- Assisting with company group health benefit plan administration
- Other related office admin and accounting duties as required

**Qualification and Skill Requirements**:

- Completion of grade 12 and a 2-year post-secondary diploma program related to accounting/finance
- At least 1-2 years of prior experience in a similar role required.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Should possess a strong work ethic, be self-directed, determined, team-oriented, energetic, and enthusiastic.
- Must be proficient with computers, particularly with Microsoft Office suite of tools (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc). Working knowledge of Expandable ERP software and/or Microsoft Office SharePoint is an asset.
- Previous experience within electronics manufacturing is an asset, as is exposure to an ISO9001:2008 environment
