**Job Synopsis**
This hourly position will work with and help coordinate the activities of volunteers to collect and process all materials produced for Mennonite Central Committee Ontario (MCCO) and the
National Warehouse for Mennonite Central Committee Canada.
This is a 8 week contract role 35 hours weekly.
The Material Resources Program Associate will aid with the organization and supervision of the group purchases. As well, the Associate will aid the Material Resources Program Coordinator
with promoting material resources to constituents and the public.

**Qualifications**
Required
- Awareness of MCC’s Material Resources program
- Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to promote and present MCC’s Christian vision, mandate, and programming
- Organizational skills and time management skills
- Volunteer recruitment and management skills
- Flexibility and resourcefulness in changing priorities to respond to other needs that may arise
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Intermediate computer skills (experience with Microsoft office programs) with the ability to learn specialized computer software
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and exert 11 to 25 lbs. of force frequently
- Requires about 3 or more hours of intermittent standing or walking in a standard workday
- Ability to repeatedly bend or stoop to floor level shelves and able to reach upper shelves with use of a stool or a ladder when necessary
- Valid ‘G’ Ontario driver’s license
- Ability to drive between two work locations
- Police vulnerable sector check (required upon hire)
- Legally able to work in Canada
Preferred
- Experience or interest in sewing
- Experience working with volunteers
To be eligible based on Canada Summer Jobs Requirements, youth must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the _Immigration and Refugee Protection Act_ for the duration of the employment and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
**International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible. As the objective of the Canada Summer Jobs program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student’s time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Volunteer Management**
- Provide support with the recruitment, training, scheduling, and supervision of volunteers, including appreciation events
- Perform volunteer orientations and with support volunteer onboardings
- Collaborate with MR staff to Facilitate group visits to 65 Heritage drive
- Help volunteers to see their connection to MCC and its impact in the world
**Material Resources Warehouse**
- Maintain clean, safe, organized and tidy work place in collaboration with the 65 Heritage Drive Management team and volunteers
- Facilitate group visits including prepping supplies, leading the group in their task, and cleaning up
- Collaborate with other MR staff to send shipments internationally
- Collaborate with the Cannery Manager in working with groups, logistics, education, and fundraising
- Look for and facilitate opportunities to sell canned meat (including weekends)
**MCC Material Resources and Promotion**
- Collaborate with the 65 Heritage Management team in preparing and presenting MCC Programs including Thrift and Material Resource activities to the constituency, volunteers and the public.
- Respond to inquiries and administrative requirements in a timely manner
**Other**
- Perform other job related duties as assigned
- Participate in MCCO orientations, and staff wide trainings/development days
- Maintain a high level of professionalism
- Participate in a local faith community, being willing to use personal gifts within this community and model nonviolent peacemaking
