Coordinate and facilitate employment-focused workshops and information sessions for newcomers in collaboration with Welcome Centre partners. Refer participants to additional support programs, including but not limited to the Job Search Workshop, HIP-T, and TMP, for further employment assistance. As a coach assist immigrants in Canada by screening and connecting skilled Internationally Trained Professionals (ITPs) and Canadian professionals to establish occupation-specific mentoring through the TRIEC Mentoring Partnership, enhancing ITPs' employment opportunities. The coach will adhere to the policies of both the Durham Region Unemployed Help Centre (primary employer) and The Welcome Centre (service management).

**Major Duties**
- Meet program expectations and targets, working in compliance with TRIEC established guidelines, policies, and procedures to include mentor recruitment in the niche fields
- Facilitate mentorship opportunities between internationally trained professional newcomers and professionals with two or more years’ experience in a professional field who are willing to serve as mentors to newcomer professionals
- Facilitate online registration, supports orientation for both Mentees and Mentors
- Monitor the TRIEC Matching System to identify potential mentor matches and where possible, ensures matches are made
- Support and coach Mentees and Mentors throughout the mentoring process
- Maintain and update mentor-mentee case notes and service information in the TRIEC Matching System and agency tracking systems throughout the client relationship
- Coach and provide clients with pre-employment and post-employment mentoring opportunities
- Facilitate monthly workshops on mental health support and Canadian workplace integration networking skills and strategies
- Facilitate Newcomer Job Search Information Sessions with newcomer/ immigrant participants at various Associated Partners (AP) locations in Durham Region a culturally sensitive manner [including but not limited to Pickering / Ajax Public Library, DCDSB and DDSB LINC classes]
- Assist the Pickering Welcome Centre Manager with organizing and hosting employment-related information sessions/ workshops facilitated by Durham Welcome Centre partner agencies (Workplace Safety and Prevention Services, Service Canada, World Education Services, Accreditation and Qualifications Information Services, etc.)
- Ensure IRCC targets are met consistently
- Develop and execute marketing strategies targeted at specific clients, employers, ITP serving organizations and professional groups/associations to promote the mentoring services
- Facilitate TRIEC Mentoring Partnership hosted information sessions in Durham and GTA, when required
- Monitor follow-up with clients to track employment outcomes at; 3: 6month following mentorship activity
- Collect and compile statistical reports on a monthly basis
- Input participant data into both the i-Care system and the Welcome Centre database.

**Other Duties**:

- Provide lunch time reception/resource relief, as required-Maintain confidentiality of service users and agency matters during and after work hours-Perform other tasks as assigned by management

**Knowledge and Skills**
- Post-secondary education in Administration, Business, or two or more years of relevant work experience-Experience in the non-profit sector/ employment resource centre/community services is a strong asset-Proven knowledge of IRCC policies and procedures is a strong asset-Experience working with people from various cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds-Excellent interpersonal/customer service skills-Proficiency in MS Office Applications-Excellent organizational and time-management skills-Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English-Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills-Ability to take initiative, and work independently-Knowledge of additional languages would be an asset would be a strong asset-Ability to provide a current vulnerable sector check upon being hired-Valid Driver’s License as this position requires travel within the Durham Region
