We need volunteers aged 18 or older to be a part of our Government approved programs for Black Youth and their Families

**The goal of our youth mentorship**:To better support Black youth and their families achieve positive life outcomes. Support offered through community & cultural connections, counselling, leadership opportunities, job skill development, coordinating mentorships, and offering practical and relevant workshops. As a volunteer, you will offer your ideas and share your skills via assisting in the organization of various community events, program initiatives, and engaging workshops. You can volunteer for mentorship, specific events, or on an ongoing basis.

We are currently seeking mentors who have expertise in:
- Cultural Identity
- Empowerment/Advocacy
- Leadership
- Building Relationships
**_How does it work?_**
- We will have a conversation to learn more about your interests and background. From there, we will collaboratively decide the best way for you to be a part of our team.
- You will share experiences, skills, and idea’s to engage & serve the community.
- Flexible hours and everything is done virtually.
- You will be offered training ongoing support from us.

**To become a Mentor, you must**:
- Have a demonstrated ability to provide safe and healthy relationships with others
- Be a positive role model
- Willing to provide 1-2 hours a week or 3-4 hours biweekly of your time virtually/remotely.
- Our meetings are all done virtually due to Covid-19 Restrictions.

- Attend workshops to increase/compliment/expand understanding cultural awareness/anti-black racism/power, privilege and oppression /violence
**Who Can Be a Mentor**:
- Individuals 18 years or older
- Professionals, Community Leaders, College students
- Consistent, caring adults who will help Black youth participants make healthy and safe choices and increase their resilience to make progress towards their goals
**What will Mentor's Do?**
Mentor will connect with at-risk youth in the community for a minimum of 6 months to a maximum of 1 year Virtually/Remotely, and may:
- Spend 1-2 hours a week with a Black Youth Participant
- Group Mentorship
- Career and School Explorations
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Volunteer, Casual
**Salary**: Up to $1.00 per year
