The Estimator is responsible for providing accurate, detailed and timely estimates for all projects within the organization. The Estimator will work closely with Project Managers and Project Coordinators to develop and execute a project plan that will result in timely, accurate, and comprehensive estimates. The estimator will be responsible for working with clients to understand their needs, collecting pertinent information, and providing a clear, concise, and detailed quote.
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
1) Project Assessment and Estimation:
- Conduct detailed assessments of painting project requirements, including surface preparation, material selection, and special considerations.
- Evaluate project blueprints, specifications, and client requests to determine necessary resources, labor, and timeline estimates.
- Calculate accurate cost estimates for materials, equipment, labor, and subcontractor services based on project scope and specifications.
- Identify potential risks, challenges, and cost-saving opportunities for each project.
2. Bid Preparation and Proposal:
- Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids and proposals for potential painting projects.
- Analyze project requirements, specifications, and cost estimates to determine optimal pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with the sales team to review bid submissions, answer client inquiries, and negotiate contract terms if necessary.
3. Relationship Management:
- Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and subcontractors to understand project objectives and provide technical guidance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, addressing concerns, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to communicate project requirements, timelines, and any changes in scope.
4. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
**Education & Experience**:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a painting contractor estimator or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and industry best practices.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills for accurate cost estimation.
- Proficiency in using estimating software and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and project stakeholders.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documentation.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
**Salary**: $45,141.00-$95,014.87 per year
