**Department**: Finance

**Location**: 5920 MacLeod Trail SW, Calgary, Alberta

**Type**: Full-time, Permanent

**Hours**: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:45 pm, flexibility required

**Position Summary**:
In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end employee benefits administration. You’ll ensure timely, accurate support and maintain compliance with policies, legislation, and collective agreements. Your work will directly support our employees’ well-being and the smooth operation of our internal processes.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of two (2) years of post-secondary education in Human Resources, Benefits, or a related discipline (preferred).
- At least two (2) years of experience in benefit management; experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with UKG payroll systems is an asset.
- Strong understanding of Alberta Employment Standards.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook in particular).
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Benefit Administration & Employee Support**
- Administer employee enrollments, terminations, and benefit changes in accordance with policy and carrier guidelines.
- Respond to benefit inquiries and provide support for claims, eligibility, and coverage.
- Interpret collective agreement provisions related to benefit entitlements.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure timely follow-up on benefit-related documentation.

**Collaboration & Reporting**
- Work closely with Payroll, HR, and external providers to ensure data integrity and consistency.
- Conduct regular benefit billing reconciliations and ensure internal systems align with external reporting.
- Provide regular and ad hoc reports related to benefit eligibility, outstanding premiums, and retirement contributions.

**Process Improvement & Education**
- Identify trends and recommend process improvements.
- Provide staff training or in-services on benefits as needed.
- Assist with Disability Management claims and ensure documentation and case coordination are up to date.

**General Office & Safety Responsibilities**
- Support administrative team with general office tasks as needed.
- Perform duties in accordance with Intercare’s health and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and report hazards appropriately.
