As a member of the food and beverage team at The Hamilton Club, you are a positive, enthusiastic and team oriented individual who is passionate about hospitality, has a keen eye for detail and strives to surpass member expectations.
In keeping with The Hamilton Club standards, our servers and bartenders are expected to become familiar with member preferences thus offering personalized service.
**Essential Functions**:
- To have complete knowledge of menu content, daily lunch and dinner features.
- Offer guidance and make recommendations of menu items, while inspecting each plate for appearance and correctness.
- To have knowledge of the wine menu including proper wine service techniques.
- To have full knowledge of alcohol beverages i.e.: cocktail, beer draught, beer bottle, pop, liquor, wine by the glass.
- To be able to serve drinks and alcohol beverage (complying with Smart Serve) from the bar.
- Accurate and efficient use of the POS system, from inputting the order to presentation of the chit.
- Maintain service levels for each table from the moment the member arrives to when the member departs.
- Continuously ensure that every member and guest leaves satisfied and happy with their experience.
- Support and assists teammates as needed and demonstrates team mentality through sharing of information.
- Complete pre-shift and closing duties ensuring adequate levels of stock and mise en place items.
- Attend and participate in daily briefings, training sessions and staff meetings.
- Be continually aware of and maintain the highest standards and conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times.
- Treat fellow staff members with respect and courtesy maintaining a positive environment.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends and holidays.
**Relevant Skills & Qualifications**:
- Experienced with a preference for fine dining experience, banquet/catering serving experience is an asset.
- Ability to work in a professional environment, both in a team and independently.
- Excellent communication skills required.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Time management skills.
- Smart Serve Certified.
- Understanding of the Club’s POS System (JONAS) is an asset.
