The Marketing/Communications Intern is accountable for developing effective working relationships with team members and supporting marketing and communications efforts. In this role, the Intern will be responsible for supporting website and Intranet activities, helping with the delivery of critical information to customers, and will support content development for social media and marketing materials.
**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Drafts a wide range of written materials (press releases, articles, media and executive briefing documents, social media content and coverage reports)
- Supports the population of French translations on the company’s external website
- Supports the updating of customer database to enable the marketing team to send out customer bulletins and marketing materials
- Supports the evolution of content on the company’s Intranet
- Provides input and support for preparing for trade shows, supporting the marketing and sales teams
- Assists in the coordination of internal events (town halls, internal staff events)
- Helps update marketing databases with brochures
- Provides input into Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives, supporting internal communications and events
- Conduct desk research to support marketing efforts
- Serves as a reliable team member and provides support to peers
- Proactively works with supervisor and team members to establish and track career goals, training and skill-building needs
- Exemplifies the company’s ethics, vision, and values in daily work
- Provides sound judgment and problem-solving skills
- Proactively seeks and shares relevant information with colleagues and clients
- Actively participates in team and staff meetings
- Assists team members as needed
**Qualifications & Skills**:
- Enrolled in a communications, public relations, journalism or related program where placements are required as part of the educational curriculum
- Previous marketing of communications internship or relevant leadership role at college/university
- Experience using Content Management Systems for websites
- Excellent communication, organizational and writing skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic, creative and fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well with others and independently as needed
- Positive attitude with a proactive approach
- Required proficiency with Microsoft Office and Social Media
