Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and managing drivers and equipment to ensure efficient and reliable operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high levels of customer service, along with strong problem-solving abilities under pressure.

The Dispatcher is accountable for ensuring that all freight is picked up and delivered safely, legally, and on schedule to its final destination.

**Major position accountabilities**:

- Able to work effectively under pressure with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate all dispatching, routing, and tracking activities to ensure company trucks operate efficiently and meet customer requirements.
- Coordinate and schedule the movement of containers to and from ports, warehouses, and other designated locations.
- Monitor traffic, weather conditions, port operations, and road closures to make real-time adjustments to routing and scheduling.
- Serve as the primary liaison between customers, vendors, partners, and drivers to maximize operational efficiency and reduce errors.
- Maintain strong working relationships with shipping lines to ensure timely equipment control, release, and allocation.
- Collaborate with the Transportation Manager to ensure equipment maintenance is conducted according to company standards and preventative maintenance requirements.
- Respond to employee and customer inquiries regarding service matters in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor port reservation gateway compliance metrics and address reservation disputes with terminals as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in both loading and import scheduling databases.
- Communicate daily with drivers, providing instructions, route guidance, and tracking progress on scheduled trips.
- Direct drivers to the appropriate loading docks and ensure smooth coordination during pick-up and delivery.

**Requirements**:

- **Minimum 2 years**of experience in a similar dispatch or logistics coordination role.
- Strong customer service skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Additional language skills, particularly Cantonese or Mandarin, are considered an asset.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, organize workload, solve problems, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of the job.

A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and effectively contribute as part of a team.

Pay: $55,000.00-$58,000.00 per year
