Richmond, Canada MAPLE LANE LOGISTICS INC. Full time

Maple Lane Logistics Inc. is a Canadian freight forwarding company specializing in ocean freight, air freight, customs brokerage, and domestic logistics. With a strong focus on customer service and operational excellence, we move cargo efficiently across the globe — from port to door.

We are looking for a **Transportation Specialist** with experience in **trucking and container drayage** to coordinate inland movements of import/export cargo, primarily through Canada ports and rail terminals. This role is critical to ensuring smooth container flow and timely deliveries for our clients.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Coordinate drayage and trucking services** for FCL/LCL shipments moving to/from ports, rail ramps, and customer warehouses
- **Schedule pickups and deliveries** with trucking partners, carriers, and 3PLs
- **Track and trace containers** to manage free time, avoid demurrage and detention, and ensure timely delivery
- **Work closely with internal teams** (customs, ocean, air, customer service) to ensure seamless door-to-door logistics
- **Manage documentation**: delivery orders, BOLs, arrival notices, gate passes, and port release paperwork
- **Communicate with terminals, warehouses, and drivers** regarding cargo readiness, container availability, and any delays
- **Utilize TMS and port systems** (eModal, PierPass, PortTrack, etc.) to monitor container status and chassis availability
- **Support compliance** with FMC, DOT, and port regulations
- **Proactively resolve issues** related to container holds, port congestion, driver shortages, and equipment availability
- **Provide status updates** and delivery confirmations to clients and internal stakeholders

**Qualifications**:

- **2-4 years of experience** in transportation, logistics, or freight forwarding (specifically drayage or trucking coordination)
- **Understanding of international freight** (especially ocean freight) and its connection to inland transportation
- **Familiarity with major Canada ports** and related systems (eModal, Terminals, Port Authority platforms)
- **Proficiency in logistics/TMS software** (e.g., CargoWise, Descartes, GoFreight, etc.) is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and prioritize tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Knowledge of import/export documentation is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Mandarin) preferred but not required

**What We Offer**:

- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid time off and holidays
- Career development opportunities in a growing global logistics company
- A fast-paced, team-oriented work environment

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
