**What You'll Do**:

- Work toward meeting various assigned housing objectives as assigned and prioritized by the Director and/or in the Department Workplan.
- Oversee various assigned Community Housing Programs, including the CMHC Section 95 On Reserve Non-Profit Housing Program, Rental Program, Tenant (and non-CP Holder) Housing Repair Requests, Emergency Repairs, Beautification (including Spring Clean-up), Waste Management Programs (including recycling), and Repairs Repayment programs.
- Coordinate, oversee, and enforce all housing activities by Housing Policy and Bylaws, and all relevant codes and standards.
- Collaborate with other departments, societies, organizations and other external parties regarding housing, including maintenance & operations (housing repairs), health (accessibility/mobility), Lands (CP allotment and CP Holder Insurance), KFNAHDS (low-income rental), Finance (repayment programs), General Manager (housing insurance for tenants and non-CP Holders).
- Work with the Director to develop, update and maintain a Rental Program including Housing Rental Application process, which includes creating a Housing Registry (including waitlist) and metrics for selection process.
- Work with the community to continue to provide Community Beautification and oversee Community Garbage and Disposal, and Recycling programs.
- Provide Property management for all rental homes and non-CP Holder homes, ensuring tenants comply with housing policy and rental agreements, preparation of rental agreements and other agreements as required, issue notices accordingly and perform quarterly housing inspections, including ensuring all rental homes and non-CP Holder homes have insurance.
- Ensure all records management and data for Housing is kept up to date, including rental agreements, insurance, housing registry, housing inventory, and maintenance records,.
- Work with departmental staff to develop and implement systems and processes that manage and track tenancy agreements, housing inventories, building assessments and inspections, maintenance, renovations, cost analysis, permits, bids for tender, project schedules, etc.

**Finance**
- Complete reporting associated with departmental funding while ensuring deadlines are met.
- Prepare Financial documents for approval of Director for any departmental expenses and programs, including payroll, and repayment plans (rent, repayment plans, etc.).

**Health & Safety**
- Ensures a healthy and safe work environment for all staff in all KFN-owned facilities.
- Ensure all activities related to housing are delivered in a safe and presentable manner.

**What We're Looking For**:

- Knowledge gained through approximately 5 years of relevant progressive work experience in band rental and social housing programs. An equivalent combination of education, work or comparable lived experience will be considered.
- Understanding of construction management including understanding the roles of various trades, estimating, inspection requirements, contract management, safety, and best practices.
- Exceptional self-awareness with a keen awareness of bias and conflict of interest.
- The First Nations Housing Manager Certificate is considered an asset.
- Knowledge and understanding of Katzie cultural practices and traditions.
- Sensitivity towards culturally appropriate and respectful practices is a must.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including seeking and establishing relationships, influencing others, building consensus, mediating, and resolving disputes.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary, multi-tasking environment with tight deadlines.
- Ability to work with high confidentiality and superior attention to detail.
- Flexibility and the ability to handle a diverse and complex workload respectfully, timely, and effectively responding to requests and queries.
- Excellent computer skills with considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Embraces and actively promotes an inclusive and equitable work environment.

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- Experience working within an Emergency Operations Centre capacity.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers and clean driver’s abstract.
- Owns or has access to reliable transportation.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (vulnerable sector)
- A willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, in some cases of emergencies.
